The Verdugo Glen Chapter of the American Business Women’s Assn. is hosting its second “Heart of Business Expo” to help women build a successful career.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Glendale Elks Lodge, 120 E. Colorado St.

The chapter designed this expo to offer a learning experience and provide a networking opportunity for women in the community, promote members’ businesses and recruit new members, said member Lynn Shelby of Burbank.

“Our chapter vision is that we are committed to supporting and developing each other to be successful in our industries and the community,” she said. “We were recognized for having this new venture when we received a national award for Team Management at the 2012 National Conference.”

The event begins with networking and shopping with such exhibitors as Gigi Hill Handbags. Glendale Council member Laura Friedman welcomes guests followed by a keynote presentation, “Take Back Your Power” by Yasmin Davidds, international best-selling author and empowerment specialist.

During lunch, attendees will have a choice from three “Lunch with the Experts” seminars: Marketing Your Business, Smart Business Sense, or Staying Healthy to Drive a Successful Business.

Luncheon/seminar cost is $35 prior to Feb 2. For reservations, call (818) 512-4079.
