Community: Burbanker graduates from West Point

Cadet Christian King Beckler, son of Benjamin and Mollie Beckler of Burbank, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point on May 25.

He is now serving as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Aviation branch at Ft. Rucker in Alabama, receiving training at the helicopter flight school.

Christian Beckler graduated from San Marino High School in 2009. While at West Point, he studied human geography and Spanish.

He was a member of the West Point Sport Parachute (Skydiving) Team. In the National Collegiate Competitions during his time on the team, he earned a gold medal in two-way formation, a gold medal in team accuracy and set a national record for team accuracy. He also received a bronze medal in individual accuracy.

Beckler also trained with the French Foreign Legion on the Island of Corsica.
