Restaurant to host evening of painting
An event called “Paint Nite: You Make Me Melt” will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at El Criollo Cuban Bar & Grill, 916 W. Burbank Blvd., Burbank.
Tickets cost $39 per person. The event is for participants 21 years old or older.

Winery to hold social event
A social event will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, at the Urban Press Winery, 316 N. San Fernando Blvd., Burbank.
The event will be broken up into two parts — a wine-bar social and ice skating.
During the wine-bar social, a jazz quartet is slated to perform.
The ice-skating portion will be held at the rink in downtown Burbank, 264 E. Orange Grove Ave., at the corner of Third Street and Orange Grove.

Recreation center to host pool event
An event called “Polar Plunge” will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Verdugo Recreation Center, 3201 W. Verdugo Ave., Burbank.
Along with swimming, there will be arts and crafts. The event is free. Registration is required.

Nature center to host ‘Noon Year’s Eve’ party
A “Noon Year’s Eve” party will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the Stough Canyon Nature Center, 2300 E. Walnut Ave., Burbank.
This kids-only event will include arts and crafts and a countdown celebration to noon. Registration for the event is required, and the cost is $15 per child.

African Violet Society to host meeting
