Couple celebrate 75 years together

Mariano and Mary Tomasino of Burbankrecently celebrated their 75th anniversary.

Mariano Tomasino married Mary Goffredo on June 1, 1935, in Mt. Carmel Church, Rochester, N.Y. Both were 20 years old in 1935 and will celebrate their 97th birthdays this year.

They left New York in 1937 for California, bought property in Burbank in 1941, then built the house they have lived in for 62 years, where they raised a daughter and a son.

Mariano worked in the studios as prop master. His first studio job was at Paramount Studios in 1941, working with movie and television stars such as Bette Davis, Red Skelton, Don Rickles, Paul Henreid and Chester Morris, who starred in the “Boston Blackie” 1940 movie detective series.

His last job was working on 12 seasons of the “Lassie” TV series.

Today, as always, the Tomasinos keep busy and are still enjoying family and friends, attending club meetings and taking bus trips.
