Burbank man arrested for alleged stabbing attempt

A 43-year-old Burbank man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly attempting to stab a man walking by his home, police said.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Leland Way around 7:30 a.m., where Jeffery Fujimoto allegedly attacked a 66-year-old man taking a walk past Fujimoto’s home, said Burbank Police Officer Cindy Guillen.

Fujimoto reportedly confronted the passerby, after which the pair began to argue, Guillen said. During the argument, Fujimoto allegedly pulled out a knife from his waistband and tried to stab the victim, who then left the scene and called the police.

Fujimoto reportedly showed police a surveillance video of the incident, which showed him pulling out a knife during the argument and attempting to stab the victim, Guillen said.

Fujimoto is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail and is due in court next week.
