A 34-year-old Montebello man suspected of breaking into a Burbank home was caught Wednesday after he allegedly used the victim’s credit card to shop online, police said.

During the day on Monday, the man, later identified as Carlos Medina, allegedly broke into a home on the 2600 block of North Buena Vista Street and took off with several computers, electronics, jewelry, credit cards and personal checks, said Burbank Police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.

The next day, the victim learned that one of his credit cards was used to make purchases online.

Based on this information and other leads, detectives served a search warrant at Medina’s Montebello home, where they found stolen property, including computers and the victim’s credit cards.

Medina was arrested on suspicion of identity theft and burglary, and is due in court this week.
