A Craigslist phone seller was robbed at gunpoint this week in a Burbank parking lot by three men acting as buyers, police said.

The victim, a 25-year-old man from Glendale, listed three iPhones on Craigslist, and agreed to meet a potential buyer Monday in the parking lot of Office Depot, located in the 200 block of East Burbank Boulevard, said Burbank Police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.

Three men in their 20s approached asking to see the phones and, after the victim handed them over, the suspects ran away.

A fight ensued after the victim caught up with the trio, after which one of the suspects entered their car and pulled out a handgun, leaving the victim to disengage in fear of his safety as the suspects fled.

Police discourage chasing or confronting suspects, but instead suggest taking down as much information as possible to share with law enforcement officials.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3210.
