A 21-year-old man was injured Thursday evening in a gang-related shooting at Robert Lundigan Park in Burbank, police said.

Just before 6 p.m., firefighters nearby heard shots fired and responded to the park, where the victim was in the street with a gunshot wound, said Burbank Police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he is undergoing surgery, Losacco said.

The victim’s injuries don’t appear to be life threatening.

The suspect reportedly fled westbound on Thornton Avenue in a black four-door car.

The investigation is ongoing.
