A Hesperia man pleaded not guilty Monday to fatally stabbing his girlfriend last month inside a Burbank home, officials said.

The suspect, identified as Timothy Aguilar Andrade, was charged with one count of murder after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, identified as 35-year-old Brandi Carrasco, in her neck.

Just before 10 p.m. on Aug. 23, officers were called to the home, located on the 1900 block of Richard Street, where Carrasco had sustained “multiple lacerations to her upper torso,” according to Burbank Police Officer Joshua Kendrick.

Both the suspect and victim were staying in the home, according to the district attorney’s office.

Andrade, who was initially identified as a person of interest in the case, was arrested two days after the incident. His statements reportedly led detectives to the suspected murder weapon, a knife, which was recovered in Burbank.

Andrade, who faces a maximum of 26 years to life in prison if convicted, is being held in lieu of $1-million bail and is due back in court next month.
