An actor who co-stars in the Showtime series “Shameless” was arrested in Burbank last Thursday on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to authorities.

Ethan Cutkosky, 18, was stopped near the intersection of Olive Avenue and Lamer Street around 10:30 p.m. after he was seen driving erratically. Sgt. Derek Green, a spokesman for the Burbank Police Department, said the actor was reportedly driving at an unsafe speed, making dangerous turning movements and straddling between lanes.

According to Green, officers noticed the smell of burnt marijuana when they spoke with the Burbank native. Green said Cutkosky admitted to police he had been smoking cannabis earlier that night.

A DUI test was subsequently conducted, including a blood draw, and Cutkosky was booked into Burbank City Jail. However, he was released several hours later and issued a citation.

The results from the blood draw are still pending, Green said.

Cutkosky has a regular role on the cable series “Shameless,” which stars William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum.

He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 29.
