A 59-year-old man pleaded guilty on Thursday to robbing Chase Bank in Burbank last December, federal court records show.
Gregory Lynn Cross, who has prior bank robbery convictions, pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery for a Dec. 13 incident in which he made off with $3,330 from Chase Bank, located at 840 N. San Fernando Blvd. in Burbank, according to federal court records.
During that robbery, he passed the teller a note written on a withdrawal slip that stated, “This is a robbery, give me $100’s, $50’s, $20’s,” according to his federal criminal complaint.
After the teller gave him the money, he “calmly” walked out of the bank, the complaint stated.
Cross was also charged with robbing a Chase Bank in Long Beach on Dec. 18 and the same Chase Bank in Burbank again on Dec. 22. Those two charges are slated to be dismissed at his sentencing in August.
He faces up to 22 years in federal prison.
