Art contest has theme of peace

BURBANK -- For the fourth year, students in Burbank can compete for a

chance to go to Hawaii and promote world peace.

Sponsored by the Burbank Noon Lions Club, students can enter an

original work of art for the 12th annual International Peace Poster

Contest.

The deadline is Jan. 6. Entry information is available at Burbank

Middle School, 3700 W. Jeffries Ave., and the Boys and Girls Club of

Burbank, 2244 N. Buena Vista St. Submissions can also be made at these

locations.

Entries are judged on originality, artistic merit and portrayal of

theme “A New Beginning for Peace.” The grand-prize winner will receive

$2,500 and a trip to Hawaii with two family members. Twenty-three other
