OBITUARY
ZILPHA JACOBS NOHRE
Zilpha Jacobs Nohre, 93, died Dec. 2, 1999, in Laguna Hills.
Mrs. Nohre was born in Lehi, Utah. She was a longtime Burbank
resident. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Maren E. Mason; son, Dale K. Nohre,
of Burbank; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 7 at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints in Burbank. Interment was at El Toro Cemetery in Lake
Forest.
Valley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
HAROLD S. ZEDWICK
Harold S. Zedwick, 90, died Dec. 10, 1999, in Woodland Hills.
Mr. Zedwick was born in Toledo, Ohio. He was a Burbank resident for 36
years and lived most recently in Newbury Park. He was a realtor and owned
a business in Burbank for 28 years. He was a former member of the Burbank
Board of Realtors.
He is survived by his wife, Annette M. Zedwick; sister, Gertrude
Rogowski; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at San Fernando
Mission Chapel in Mission Hills.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
PEGGY LOU BRIGANTI
Peggy Lou Briganti, 71, died Dec. 8, 1999, in North Hollywood.
Mrs. Briganti was born in Los Angeles. She was a Burbank resident for
46 years. She worked for Lockheed-Martin Corp, prior to retiring.
She is survived by her sons, Martin and Paul, of Burbank; daughter,
Christine Briganti; and three grandchildren, Mark, Melissa and Jill.
Cremation was arranged by Pierce Brothers Mortuary in Westwood.
ROSEMARY ELLEN McCLELLAN
Rosemary Ellen McClellan, 75, died Dec. 5, 1999, in San Diego.
Mrs. McClellan was born in Tulsa, Okla. and lived in Burbank for more
than 35 years. She worked for the Automobile Club of Southern California
for more than 25 years.
She is survived by her son, Larry; sister, Betty June Palmisano and
brother-in-law Joseph Palmisano; nephews, Richard Thomas, Steve McClellan
and Douglas McClellan of Oceanside.
Mrs. McClellan was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Herschel
McClellan; her parents, Leonard and Verna Tiesu; and brother, Lafe
Thomas.
Per her request, no formal funeral service was held. Interment will be
at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills.
The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association,
225 Broadway, Suite 310, San Diego, CA 92101, or to the American Cancer
Society.
HARRIET H. HANSON
Harriet H. Hanson, 89, died Dec. 11, 1999, in Burbank.
Mrs. Hanson was born in Chicago. She was a longtime Burbank resident.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Alice J. Hanson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Valley Funeral
Home.
Donations may be made to the Humane Society or a charity of one’s
choice.
GLADYS M. BAKKER
Gladys M. Bakker, 88, died Dec. 8, 1999 at a Burbank hospital.
Mrs. Bakker was born in Sioux Falls, S.D. She was a Burbank resident
for two years. She was a restaurant manager for 35 years.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Crowther and Herbert Crowther;
daughters, Jean Toft and Joan Johnson; and a brother.
Funeral Services were held Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park,
Hollywood Hills.
LEON AKOPIANS
Leon Akopians, 78, died Dec. 15, 1999, at a Los Angeles Hospital.
Mr. Akopians was born in Russia. He lived in Burbank for three years.
Prior to retiring, he was a baker and a cake maker for 58 years, most
recently with Arzuman.
He is survived by his wife, Hasmik; and son, Albert.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Old North Church,
Forest Lawn Mortuary, Hollywood Hills.
