WILLIAM OGDEN HART
William Ogden Hart, 93, died Dec. 24, 1999, at Glendale Adventist
Medical Center.
Mr. Hart was born in Sacramento and lived in Burbank for 57 years.
After working several years as a newspaper photographer, he went to work
for Lockheed Aircraft Company in the electrical research laboratory,
retiring from the corporation in 1974.
He was a member of the Lockheed Shooting Star Camera Club and the
YMCA.
Mr. Hart is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eileen; son, William;
daughter, Rosemary Hart Slemp; grandsons, William F. Hart, of Burbank,
Richard E. Hart, Timothy A. Slemp and William A. Slemp; and
granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Slemp.
A memorial service was held Dec. 29 at First United Methodist Church
of Burbank. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made
to the American Heart Association or First United Methodist Church of
Burbank.
AGNES MORIN
Agnes Morin, 66, died Dec. 24, 1999, at her Burbank home.
Mrs. Morin was born in Scotland and lived in Burbank for 35 years.
She is survived by her husband, Artheme; sons, Richard, David and
Dennis, all of Burbank; and daughter, Lorraine Morin, of Burbank.
A graveside service was held Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park,
Hollywood Hills.
JOSEPH J. DOGEY
Joseph J. Dogey, 86, died Dec. 29, 1999, in Burbank.
Mr. Dogey was born in Chicago and lived in Burbank for 55 years. He
worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 40 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise Bankuti; three nephews; and one
niece.
Services were held Dec. 31 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood
Hills.
LONA M. POTTS
Lona M. Potts, 86, died Dec. 30, 1999, in Burbank.
Mrs. Potts was born in Paducah, Texas, and lived in Burbank for two
years.
She is survived by her daughters, Gail Sims, of Burbank, and Jean
King; brother, Roy Moffitt; half-brother, Herbert Moffitt; stepsister,
Mae Quinley; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and interment were private. Eckerman-Heisman funeral
Service was in charge of arrangements.
LEO LEONCE NORRIS
Leo Leonce Norris, 88, died Jan. 1, 2000, in Sun Valley.
Mr. Norris was born in Pasadena and lived in Burbank for 22 years. He
was a retired Los Angeles city school worker.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie; brother, Thomas; stepdaughter,
Chris Massucci; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Interment followed at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Mission Hills.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American
Cancer Society.
LEO L. IVERSON
Leo L. Iverson, 91, died Jan. 1, 2000, at Providence St. Joseph
Medical Center in Burbank.
Mr. Iverson was born in Wolf Creek, Wis., and lived in Burbank for 53
years.
He worked for 22 years as a proofreader for the former Valley Times
and the Hollywood Citizen before retiring in 1968.
He is survived by his sons, Keith, of Burbank, and Gilbert; eight
grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his wife, Alice; and daughter, Lynn-Alyce Hagenbuch.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 15 at Pierce Brothers
Valhalla Chapel in North Hollywood. Aftercare California Cremation and
Burial Society is in charge of the arrangements.
ROGER KELLY
Roger Kelly, 67, died Jan. 2, 2000, at his Burbank home.
Mr. Kelly was born in Boston and lived in Burbank for five years. He
served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Western Weavers Square
Dance Club, American Legion Post No. 150 and the Joslyn Adult Center. Mr.
Kelly was also a volunteer at the Gene Autry Museum.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; stepson, John Morse; stepdaughters,
Jeri Middleton and Jeane Furness; seven grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in
North Hollywood.
EUGENE EDWARD VELING
Eugene Edward Veling, 86, died Jan. 2, 2000, in Burbank.
Mr. Veling was born in Effingham, Ill. He lived in Burbank for 55
years. He was a retired aircraft engine inspector.
Mr. Veling was a member of the Knights of Columbus for almost 50
years, achieving Knight of the Year in 1954. He was also a
semiprofessional baseball player in the Catalina League, from 1935-39 and
was a Little League baseball coach during the 1950s. He was also an avid
vegetable gardener and home brewer.
He is survived by his wife, Mary J. Veling, of Burbank; daughters,
Miriam Ellis and Katherine Veling; grandson, Andrew Ellis; granddaughter,
Emily Ellis; brother, Philip; and sister, Marguerite Bolin.
A funeral Mass was held Thursday at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in
Burbank. Interment followed at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Mission
Hills.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Rancho San
Antonio, “Boys Town of the West,” Attn: Brother John Crowe, 21000 Plummer
St., Chatsworth, CA 91311.
LOUISA M. DAVIDIAN
Louisa M. Davidian, 81, died Jan. 3, 2000, in Burbank.
Mrs. Davidian was born in Iran and lived in Burbank for 35 years.
She is survived by her husband, Vartan; daughters, Tamara Babayan,
Anna Kalayjian, Linda Giamela and Mariam Davidian; six grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at St. Peter Armenian
Church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood
Hills.
JEAN A. BAGBY
Jean A. Bagby, 73, died Jan. 3, 2000.
Mrs. Bagby was born in Arlington, S.D., and lived in Burbank for many
years. She worked in the real estate and medical fields and was active in
Burbank’s St. Francis Xavier Church.
She is survived by her son, Michael; daughters, Nancy J. Jablonski,
Helen A. Malboeuf; Charlotte Bagby-Underwood and Susan M. Morgan;
brother, Robert Burdette; sister, Helen Miller; several nieces and
nephews; six grandchildren; and ex-husband Robert M. Bagby of Burbank.
A funeral Mass was held Wednesday at St. Vincent Ferrara in Sun City.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American
Cancer Society.
JACK M. EPPERLY
Jack M. Epperly, 90, died Jan. 4, 2000, in Glendale.
Mr. Epperly was a Burbank resident for 30 years. He co-owned Valley
Tire Enterprises of Burbank, working in the tire shop for more than 50
years. He was also a licensed pilot.
He is survived by his nephews, Jack Williams and Bill Williams; and
niece, Susan Shaw.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. today at First Methodist
Church in Burbank. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park,
Hollywood Hills.
