Georgia Raines, the daughter of KABC weatherman Dallas Raines and
Danielle Raines of La Canada Flintridge, recently made her first
professional stage appearance as Little Kim in Showboat at the Cerritos
Center for the Performing Arts.
She has performed in numerous school productions at Mayfield Junior
School in Pasadena as a singer, dancer and actress.
Megan P. Martins, the daughter of Denise and Frank Martins of Burbank,
was named to the Claremont McKenna College Distinguished Scholars List
for the fall semester. An A- average must be maintained to be on the
list.
She is a psychology-biology major in her junior year.
Local students have been selected for the dean’s honor list at UC
Santa Barbara. This honor is reserved for students who have attained the
grade point average of 3.75 with 12 or more units.
The undergraduate students are: pre-sociology major, Lindsay A. Maas
of Burbank; biopsychology major, Mark A. Villanueva of Glendale;
linguistics major, Alicia Rosalyn Mosesman of La Crescenta; pre-computer
science major, Arash Nikkar of La Crescenta; and physical geography
major, Tom Edward Traeger of La Crescenta.
Shant R. Petrossian of Glendale received a master’s degree in
broadcast journalism from Boston University this winter.
Eleanor R. Morton of La Crescenta was named to the fall dean’s list at
Pacific Lutheran University. She had to complete 12 units with at least a
3.5 grade point average.
