Congratulations

Deakin Andrew “Beamer” Hodge, the son of Charlie and Susan Hodge of La

Crescenta, received the rank of Eagle Scout.

For his Scout project, Hodge repaired a large section of trail in the

Angeles National Forest. The project took six adults and 13 Scouts, and a total of nine days to complete.

Hodge received his award in front of 80 friends, troop members and

Scouting officials at a ceremony held at the Church of Scientology,

Celebrity Centre, in Hollywood.

He has also received the Order of the Arrow and 21 Merit Badges. He

successfully backpacked 50 miles on the Silver Moccasin Trail and 100

miles on the Whitsett to Whitney Trails.

He also serves as assistant scoutmaster for Troop 8.

Hodge is pursuing a career in television commercial production and

attends Pasadena City College.

Brian Walter Lucett, the son of Gregory and Raksen Lucett of Glendora,

received the rank of Eagle Scout.

Lucett is a member of the Verdugo Hills Council of the Boy Scouts, in

Glendale.

For his Eagle Scout project, Lucett did a landscaping project at

Wilson Middle School. He bagged 225 50-gallon bags of debris and removed

old plantings. He replaced them with 480 new plants.

He has also received the Order of the Arrow and has been a Chaplain’s

Aide and a Scribe.

He is in the 10th grade at Glendora High School where he earned the

Golden State Academic Excellence Award with Honors for geometry.

Burbank resident Samuel Ellison graduated from Cal Poly Pomona on

March 14 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering

and a minor in computer science.

He has accepted a position with Applied Signal Technology, Inc., in

Sunnyvale.

Kimberly Goffredo, the daughter of John and Stevie Goffredo of La

Crescenta, was named to the dean’s list for the fall at the University of

San Diego.

She is a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Ashley Shelden of Glendale was named to the dean’s list for the fall

at Ithaca College.

She is a psychology major and Hoover High School graduate.

Joseph Russell Tucker, the son of Wanda L. Tucker of La Canada

Flintridge, was named to the dean’s list for the fall at Gettysburg

College.

He is a freshman.
