LUCY E. SHELBY
Lucy E. Shelby, 93, died April 17, 2000, in Burbank.
Mrs. Shelby was born in Missouri and lived in Burbank for 50 years.
She is survived by her son, Ray.
Services were Friday at Old North Church, Forest Lawn Memorial Park,
Hollywood Hills.
FLORENCE STEPHENS POPE
Florence Stephens Pope, 64, died April 20, 2000, in Burbank.
Mrs. Pope was born in Fayette City, Pa., and lived in Burbank for 34
years.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters, Lynnette Karnes and
Andrea Douglas; sister, Isabel Chalfant; brother, Jack Stephens; and
grandchildren, Trevor, Ashley and Kristy Karnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Farquhar and Anna May
Stephens; brother, Allen Stephens; and sisters, Ruth Moore, Bessie
Stephens and Beatrice A. Stephens.
Services were Monday at Eckerman-Heisman Funeral Service Chapel. Her
ashes will be scattered at sea off the coast of Carpinteria, Calif.
DAVID TEDESCO
David Tedesco, died April 21, 2000, in Burbank.
Mr. Tedesco was born in Oxford, England. He was a Burbank resident for
55 years. He worked in construction for 25 years and was a member of the
ICF, Burbank branch 102 for about 40 years.
He is survived by his son, David; daughter, Rosemary Klem; sisters,
Florence Granata, of Burbank, and Mafalda Soave; and five grandchildren.
His wife, Helen, died in 1992.
Services were held Tuesday at St. Robert Bellarmine Church.
JOHN A. DODD
John A. Dodd, 66, died April 20, 2000.
Mr. Dodd was born in Springfield, Mo. He was a Burbank resident for 60
years and a graduate of John Burroughs High School. He retired in 1987
from the Los Angeles City Fire Department where he served as a
firefighter for 27 years.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalind; son, John Russell Dodd;
daughter, Terry Lynn McDonald and son-in-law, John William McDonald; and
grandchildren, Christie Renee, Brenda Hope, Sara Rose and Nicole Marie
McDonald.
Family and friends will gather from 3 to 9 p.m. today in the Garden
Chapel of Woods Scovern Mortuary in Glendale. A vigil service will begin
at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass will be celebrated Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic
Church in Tujunga. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills.
EDWARD ANDREW ANDERSON
Edward Andrew Anderson, 86, died April 20, 2000, in Burbank.
Mr. Anderson was born in Salt Lake City. He was a Burbank resident for
34 years. He worked as an engineer and a consultant for Lockheed Aircraft
Co. for 32 years in California, New York, Japan, England and Ireland. He
was a member of Lockheed Overseas Employees Assn. and Lockheed Japan
Reunion Group. He was also a ballroom dancer.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughters, Christina A. Hughes, Anne
B. Anderson and Katherine (Keiko) Fontana; grandchildren Andrea and
Caroline Hughes, Christina and David Fontana; and sisters, Beatrice
Kottra, Edith Kelly and Ethel Snider.
A graveside service will be held at noon Friday at Mission San
Fernando Cemetery.
