honor members
At the chapter’s 38th anniversary meeting, the Verdugo Glen Chapter of
the American Business Women’s Assn., honored its past presidents and
presented lifetime membership awards to Marion Lemke and Joan Swan of La
Crescenta.
To receive this honor, the member must have more than 25 years of
membership, at least 20 years of perfect attendance and continuous
contribution and involvement in the Verdugo Glen Chapter. Both of these
women are 35-year chapter members.
In addition, certificates of recognition were presented to President
Marjorie Koerber, Vice President Nancy Johnson, Recording Secretary Fran
DeSena, Corresponding Secretary Karen L’Heureux and Treasurer Myrna
Bunsen by Armond Agakani representing state Assemblyman Dario Frommer’s
office.
Past President Diane Tubbs installed the officers for the 2001-02
year. They are President Nancy Johnson of Burbank, Vice President Karen
Hall of Sylmar, Recording Secretary Karen L’Heureux of Tujunga,
Corresponding Secretary DeDe Ching of Burbank and Treasurer Mary Ann
Jackson of Tujunga.
The association is a national organization dedicated to providing
business training for women of diverse backgrounds through education for
career advancement and personal development. It has more than 1300
chapters and 90,000 members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
