MAXINE HOEHN MUNCH

Maxine Hoehn Munch died in her sleep, Oct. 25, 2001, at her residence

in La Verne, Calif. She was 86.

Ms. Munch was born March 14, 1915, on a homestead in Sturgis, S.D.,

and migrated to California as a young girl.

She was educated at Occidental College and UCLA and served as a

lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. She dedicated

herself to her family and to her 32-year career as a teacher in the

Burbank school system.

Ms. Munch is survived by her daughter, Orna, and sons Paul and Norman.

No funeral services are planned.

LEONA ROSE MELLO

Leona Rose Mello, 79, died Oct. 27, 2001, in Burbank.

Ms. Mello was born Nov. 27, 1921, in Ontario, Canada. Ms. Mello was a

Burbank resident for 31 years.

She was self employed as a beautician for 20 years and a member of the

First Presbyterian Church of North Hollywood for 37 years.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest E. Mello; brother and

sister-in-law Herbert and Aldith Beatty; sister-in-law and brother-in-law

Lee and Aileen Keel; and nephews Wayne and Eric Beatty, and Steve and

Kevin Keel.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Valley

Funeral Home, 2121 W. Burbank Blvd. A funeral service will be conducted

at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, 5000 Colfax Ave.,

North Hollywood. Burial is at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.

ROSEMARY JONES

Rosemary Jones died Oct. 26, 2001 in Sun Valley. She was 91.

Ms. Jones was born July 27, 1910, in Seattle, Wash. She was a Burbank

resident and a homemaker for 56 years.

Ms. Jones was a volunteer at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center and

a longtime active member of St. Finbar Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son, the Rev. Robert Jones; sister Catherine

Niekamp; brother Richard Snaer; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Finbar Catholic Church, 2010 W.

Olive Ave.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to a

charity of the donor’s choice.

SALLY GILBERT

Sally Gilbert, 78, died Oct. 28, 2001, in Burbank.

Ms. Gilbert was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Tennessee. She lived in Burbank

for 54 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Burbank Temple

Emanu El.

Survivors include daughters, Jean Seager, Deborah Ross and Laura

Gilbert; grandchildren Erica Seager, Ben Seager, Gabriel Ross, Rachel

Ross and Ilana Ross; and brother Ewing Seligman.

Funeral services and interment were Tuesday in Mt. Sinai Memorial

Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be

made to the Friends of the Burbank Public Library, P.O. Box 702, Burbank,

CA 91503-0702.
