Man hit in head with vodka bottle

SOUTH SAN FERNANDO DISTRICT -- A 33-year-old Burbank man was seriously
injured Saturday after a 27-year-old Burbank man threw a Vodka bottle at
his head, police said.
The men were drinking in an apartment in the 200 block of West Elm
Avenue when the two began to argue over a 32-ounce drinking mug, Burbank
Police Sgt. Bill Taylor said.
The 33-year-old man swung the mug at the other, hitting him several
times with it in the head and then left, leaving the other man on the
kitchen floor with his head bleeding, Taylor said.
But the 27-year-old man got up and threw an empty bottle of vodka at
the man as he left, Taylor said.
The bottle hit him in the head.
The younger man was treated at a local hospital, released and arrested
on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
The man hit in the head with the bottle was taken to County USC
Medical Center with a serious head injuries, but he was also booked on
suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Taylor said.
