MAGNOLIA PARK -- Police arrested two men Tuesday in connection with an
afternoon robbery at the Burbank City Employees Federal Credit Union.
Shortly before 1 p.m., a man entered the credit union at 1800 W.
Magnolia Blvd. and handed a demand note for money to a teller, Burbank
Police Lt. Roger Mason said. Police were still investigating the men’s
identities as of Tuesday afternoon.
While responding to the scene, officers allegedly saw a man leaving
the bank with fistfuls of money and get into car with another man. The
driver later told police he did not know the alleged robber and let him
into the car after he offered money in exchange for a ride.
A short car pursuit ensued until the alleged robber abandoned the car,
ran through a parking lot and car wash. He was captured in the 300 block
of South Victory Boulevard, Mason said.
The man driving the car was also detained but was cooperating with
police, Mason said.
