Arnie Morton’s steakhouse to be built

MEDIA DISTRICT WEST -- Burbank residents could have a new place to

have steak come the fall.

Arnie Morton’s of Chicago, The Steakhouse -- an upscale restaurant

with locations in the United States, Hong Kong and Canada -- is slated to

be a tenant of Burbank’s Pinnacle project. The Pinnacle is an

almost-completed office, retail and restaurant complex at 3400 W. Olive

Ave., near NBC studios.

The restaurant will cover 8,300 square feet on the first floor of the

six-story Pinnacle building and will cost $1.3 million to construct.

Irvine-based R.D. Olson Construction has been awarded the contract for

the steakhouse.

R.D. Olson recently completed building Arnie Morton’s of Chicago

locations in Honolulu, Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Seattle and Vancouver,

British Columbia.

The company is excited to take on Burbank next, project manager John

Ramirez said.

“It’s a great opportunity for us and has been for us for many years,”

he said. “Typically, they’re always on the lookout for new locations and

stuff, and we’re there to keep the relationship going.”

Ramirez said the Burbank location will include the signature

characteristics of other Arnie Morton’s of Chicago restaurants. A dark

burgundy awning with a lit Morton’s sign, a dark, red oak wood front door

and two coach lamps on either side of the entrance will all be a part of

the Pinnacle’s restaurant, Ramirez said.

“It’ll look great,” he said. “And it’s in a great location. It’s right

across the street from NBC studios -- really all the studios and the

business centers.”

The Pinnacle, built on top of a four-level parking garage, will offer

400,000 square feet of office space, retail and restaurant space.

Construction on Arnie Morton’s of Chicago is scheduled to begin June

3, and completion is expected for late September.
