Two men thought to be involved in the theft of expensive Batman
and Spiderman suits from Warner Bros. and Sony studios have been
arrested.
Jeffrey Glenn Gustafson, 35, of Burbank, and Robert Hughes, 34, of
Los Angeles, were arrested at their homes Thursday by Culver City
Police, officials said.
Gustafson was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property
and Hughes was charged with one.
The theft at Warner Bros. occurred on the studio’s Burbank lot in
March 1996. A Batman suit worth $150,000 and a mannequin were taken.
Four other suits, worth $200,000, were stolen from the Sony studio
lot in Culver City, officials said.
Gustafson worked as a security guard for Warner Bros. in 1996 and
worked for Sony in 2001.
Gustafson was being held on $350,000 bail and Hughes was being
held in lieu of $50,000.
