A 70-year-old Burbank woman died Friday after the car she was in
was broadsided by a minivan that did not stop at a stop sign, police
said.
Lida Khrimian of Sun Valley was riding with her husband Thursday
night in their Subaru station wagon when it was hit as he drove north
on Glenoaks Boulevard, Police Det. Paul Orlowski said. Bhavna Patel
was driving her Toyota Sienna west on Lamer Street and allegedly
failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Glenoaks
Boulevard.
Five passengers were inside the van with Patel, including three
children from 3 to 12. It entered the intersection, broadsided the
station wagon and rolled over.
Khrimian was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, where
she died Friday morning.
Her husband, Vazgen, was taken to County-USC Medical Center for
treatment.
The children in the van were treated for minor injuries at
Providence St. Joseph Medical Center. Patel and her grandparents, who
were also in the vehicle, were treated there for minor injuries.
Police were still investigating Friday and no arrests had been
made.
