Library hosts school-safety presentation

The second annual “Safety in the Burbank Schools -- a Proactive

Approach,” sponsored by the Burbank Noon Rotary Club, is from 6:30 to

8:30 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Burbank Central Library, 110 N. Glenoaks

Blvd.

Director of Pupil Services Hank Jannace, School Safety Coordinator

Marissa Rosoff, John Muir Middle School Principal Bruce Osgood and

Burbank Police will speak about drug use in the city and schools. The

group will also discuss student and faculty training to eliminate

drugs from school campuses.

“We’re trying to be proactive, and looking ahead to prevent

[drugs] from being a problem,” event chairwoman Joan Ortiz said.

Parents will be updated on some of the new programs in the

schools, she said.
