‘West Wing’ set catches fire
A fire caused $100,000 in damage to the “West Wing” set at a
soundstage at Warner Bros. Studios, officials said. The fire broke
out Thursday morning about 8 a.m. while the NBC show was being shot,
Burbank Fire Marshal Dave Starr said. Apparently, a halogen light
bulb burst, sparking an overhead fire on one of the show’s many sets.
The blaze was at the show’s White House press-room set, Starr said.
Some crew members tried to put out the fire and the sprinkler system
helped to par- tially control it. Between 80 and 100 people were
evacuated from the area. No one was hurt.
