Women’s Committee plants trees

The Women’s Committee of the Glendale Symphony Orchestra recently

planted six trees with assistance of the Glendale Parks and

Recreation arborist, Bill McKinley, at the Glendale Sports Complex

near the soccer field.

Trees were planted in memory of Valborg (Hedy) Hedback, Mary

Minder, Fred Packard, Amelia Reinhart, Betty Svendsen and Nellie

Morris Terry.

Audrey Packard, Catherine Yesayan, Beverly Morrow, Mr. and Mrs.

Bill Reinhart, John Terry and Lois K. Frederick attended the

ceremony.

The Women’s Committee is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization that

fosters music education in the community and activities for youth.

Ensembles in the Schools is a major philanthropic project. Seven

endowment funds are also administered and provide music scholarships

Glendale members attend garden club

Denise Friese will present a talk “Create Your Dream Garden” at

the meeting of the The Los Angeles Garden Club on Feb. 10 at 1900 N.

Vermont Ave. in Los Angeles.

Members of the club from Glendale are Clinette Reslock and Irene

Puatu.

The group meets for coffee at 9 a.m. and the program begins at 10

a.m.

Emblem Club officers installed

The Glendale Emblem Club had its 58th installation of officers

Jan. 15.

Karen Rector was installed president. She and her corps of

officers were installed by Emblem’s Supreme President Gay W. Odsather

and her corps of officers.
