Chris Baker, the son of Paul...

Chris Baker, the son of Paul and Cheryl Baker of La Crescenta,

has received the rank of Eagle Scout.

For his Eagle Scout project, he refurbished the equipment shed at

Dunsmore Elementary School. He replaced the drywall, painted the

interior and repaired and painted the exterior.

Baker is a junior at Crescenta Valley High School. He lettered

three years in cross-country and track and field, is a scholar

athlete and member of the Robotics Club.

He attended the 2001 Boy Scout National Jamboree in Fort A.P.

Hill, Va.

The tour included a trip to New York and the World Trade Center

just one month before Sept. 11.

He received the Arrow of Light and the Baden Powell Award.

Catherine Bae of Glendale graduated from the Massachusetts

Institute of Technology with a master’s degree in business

administration from the Sloan School of Management.

She is the daughter of Sangok and Jong Bae of Calle Amable.

Michael C. Fortner of Glendale was presented with his first white

medical coat, signifying the beginning of a career in medicine.

He was one of 130 members of Penn State College of Medicine’s

Class of 2006 to participate in the ceremony.

Susie Kim, the daughter of Simon and II Soo Kim of Glendale, has

been accepted to Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.

Valerie Samore, the daughter of Ron and Rose Samore of Glendale,

has received her Instrument Rating and Commercial license in

Westminster College’s Aviation program.
