Students contend for visual arts awards
Five Burbank high school students are semifinalists in the Music
Center’s 2003 Spotlight Awards for visual arts.
Eleventh-grader Katherine Park of Burbank High School is competing
in the two-dimensional design category.
Photography semifinalists are Burroughs High School 12th-graders
Marsha Graniel, Pachaporn Pandensaeng, Adam Senate and Curran Wedner.
Winners will be announced March 6 during a reception at the Bobbie
Greenfield Gallery at Bergamont Station in Santa Monica. Winners will
receive $1,500; runners-up, $1,000 and five honorable mentions, $250.
For the second consecutive year, the Burbank-based Walter Lantz
Foundation donated $25,000 to the visual arts competition.
