Kepenekian’s shot lifts Burbank to win

Burbank 52, Valencia 49: Bulldog senior Christine Kepenekian has

hit her share of big shots during her four-year varsity career.

However, her effort Friday against the visiting Vikings might have

been her best yet, as it lifted Burbank to a Foothill League victory.

Kepenekian hit a long-range, game-winning three-pointer at the

buzzer for the Bulldogs’ first league victory.

Kepenekian -- a former Leader All-Area Player of the Year --

scored 17 points and had 13 rebounds and teammate Roxy Quintero

poured in 17 points

Bell-Jeff 54, La Salle 33: The Guards (5-0 in league) remained

undefeated in the Sunshine League on Saturday with a win on the road.

team’s 47 points to lead Providence (13-2, 6-1 in league) Saturday in

a Liberty League game in the Pioneers’ gym.

in the Foothill League with a loss on the road.

each scored 16 points to lead host Bell-Jeff (9-7, 1-1) Friday in a Santa Fe League road game.

League win Friday by defeating the visiting Centurions.
