Concerto and aria contest announced
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
The Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra, in conjunction with the
Hennings-Fischer Foundation, will sponsor the second annual Young
Artist’s Concerto and Aria Competition.
Preliminary competition will be March 24 and 26, with the finals
performed in front of an audience at 7:30 p.m. March 29 at the Hall
of Liberty in Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive.
First-place winners in the instrumental and opera categories will
be awarded $500 honorariums and will be announced immediately after
the finals competition.
The competition is open to all opera singers and orchestral
instrumentalists, excluding pianists, younger than 30 as of March 29.
The deadline for applications is March 15. The fee is $35 and is
non-refundable. Application forms are available by calling the
