Sushi eatery opens in former Don’s Restaurant building
The building that once housed Don’s Restaurant, which featured
home-style cooking best known for its fish and chips, has been
reopened as a sushi and sashimi eatery.
Momotaro, at 509 S. Glendale Blvd., opened Jan. 11 after owners
Mike and Cindy Chai closed Don’s and dedicated four months to
extensive renovations, transforming it into a sleek Japanese-style
bistro.
“Nowadays, people are concerned with healthier food, so [my wife
and I] decided it was time to change,” he said. “With sushi and
sashimi, its very tasty and people don’t get fat. It’s more popular
than hamburgers.”
With prices ranging from $7.95 to $10.95 for lunch and $9.50 to
$17.95 for dinner, Momotaro also specializes in tempura foods.
