Army Pvt. Brenda Y. Piedra, daughter of Humberto Piedra of

Burbank, has graduated from the unit supply specialist advanced

individual training course at Fort Lee in Petersburg, Va. She is a

2000 graduate of Burbank High School.

Air Force Airman Artin Avetyan, son of Jirair and Hasmik Avetyan

of Burbank, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland

Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is a 2002 graduate from Hoover High

School.

Marine Corps Pfc. Gilbert S. Ruiz, son of Linda Ruiz of Houston

and Juan Santiago of Glendale, graduated from the Marine Aviation

Operations Specialist Course. He is a 2000 graduate of North Brook

High School in Houston.

Marine Corps Cpl. Tanya J. Hunter, daughter of Belle A. Fisher of

Glendale and Ned Hunter of Victorville, is halfway through a

six-month deployment to the Western Pacific Ocean and Arabian Gulf.

Hunter is a 1998 graduate of Glendale High School and joined the

Marine Corps in November 1998.

Marine Corps Pfc. John B. Burgos, a 1998 graduate of St. Francis

High School, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps

Recruit Depot in San Diego.

Air Force Airman Silvana M. Restrepo, daughter of Mary Restrepo of

Glendale, has graduated from the information management apprentice

course at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss.

She is a 2001 graduate of Glendale High School.
