Annie Awards presented tonight

GLENDALE -- The 30th annual Annie Awards Show, honoring

outstanding animation, are at the Alex Theatre tonight.

Presented by The International Animated Film Society, the event

includes presenters Roy E. Disney, the chairman of Walt Disney

Feature Animation and June Foray, legendary voice actress for Rocky

the Flying Squirrel and many others.

Tickets to the black tie event are $35 to $50, and are available

at the door.

A reception starts at 5 p.m. tonight and the show begins at 7 p.m.

at the Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd.

Resident reaches ‘Idol’ semi-finals

BURBANK -- J.D. Adams will perform on Fox TV’s “American Idol” on

Tuesday.

The 20-year-old Burbank resident performed with the Burbank High

School choir and is a music student at Glendale Community College.

He was picked from 70,000 people who auditioned nationwide, and is

among the 32 semi-finalists performing this week.

Winners are picked by home viewers who can cast their votes by

calling a toll-free phone number.

Adams will sing on the show at 8 p.m. Tuesday on FOX-TV Channel

Thieves hit mall lingerie shop -- briefly

MEDIA CITY CENTER -- Police are searching for someone who walked

into the Victoria’s Secret in the mall and swiped about 50 pairs of

women’s thong underwear from a display table.

The incident occurred about 7 p.m. Thursday. A store manager

noticed the table looked disheveled and realized the underwear was

missing, Police Sgt. John Dilibert said.

The total loss in thongs was about $1,000.
