Share

Rossini’s “Barber of Seville” is the next segment in the Los

Angeles Opera free series presented by the Associates of Brand

Library at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Brand Recital Hall.

The talk will be presented by Monica Weil, a member of the

Speakers Bureau of the opera company. The series is co- sponsored by

the Los Angeles Opera, the Opera League of Los Angeles and the Brand

Library with the goal of sharing opera with the community. Seven of

the talks are timed with operas being produced by Los Angeles Opera

during the 2002-2003 season.

Two of the presentations focus on the “behind-the-scenes” world of

opera, and the last program is a free concert by Los Angeles Opera

artists. Entrance is through the front doors of the Library, which is

open until 9 p.m. Thursdays.

The remaining talks are March 13, Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman;

April 10, “Behind the Scenes” program to be announced; May 8,

Mozart’s Don Giovanni; and June 12, free community concert with the

Los Angeles Opera Artists.

For more information, call the library during business hours at

548-2051.
