ANNIE BAKER

Annie Baker, 97, died Feb. 3, 2003, in Oceanside.

Born Jan. 1, 1906, in Essen, Germany, she was a 30-year Burbank

resident and a longtime employee at Genio’s Restaurant.

Ms. Baker is survived by her children, Al, Delores, George and

Annie; and 10 grandchildren.

The memorial service is at 1 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Oceanside El

Dorado Church, 115 S. Clementine St., Oceanside.

BROOKE B. BLACKWOOD

Brooke B. Blackwood, 71, died Feb. 7, 2003, in Laughlin, Nev.

Born Feb. 21, 1931, in Glendora, he was a 34-year Burbank resident

who worked for the city’s power plant. He was also a Korean War

veteran, serving in the Navy for four years.

Mr. Blackwood is survived by his wife, Lydia Hunseder, and

daughter, Linda Blackwood Coogan.

Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to

the American Legion Laughlin Post # 60, P.O. Box 30648, Laughlin, NV

89028.

LEANDRO VAL LAZALDE

Leandro Val Lazalde, 76, died Jan. 24, 2003, in Sherman Oaks.

Born Feb. 27, 1926, in Los Angeles, he was a longtime Burbank

resident who worked as a building engineer for the Glendale Federal

Bank.

Mr. Lazalde is survived by his wife, Sylvia Moreno; son, Kevin;

daughter, Diana Moreno; and five grandchildren.

The memorial service was Jan. 29 at St. Robert Bellarmine

Catholic Church.

Eckerman-Heisman Funeral Service was in charge of direction.

HAZEL LEE WATERS

Hazel Lee Waters, 86, died Feb. 8, 2003, in Burbank.

Born Nov. 4, 1916, in Tyler, Texas, she lived in Burbank for 10

years.

Mrs. Waters is survived by her daughters, Gala Sue Waters, Marcia

Cranson, Donna Mattingly, Sandra K. Waters and Vanda Bittman; and

five grandchildren.

The graveside service was Thursday at Forest Lawn, Hollywood

Hills.
