‘Daredevil’ is all about action
Matt Bellner of Burbank is an actor.
The “Daredevil,” played by Ben Affleck, is a pill-popping,
booze-drinking, womanizing, butt-kicking comic book superhero for the
21st century. He solves problems with a punch-first,
ask-questions-later attitude. Imagine Spiderman combined with Charles
Bronson from “Death Wish” and you have the “Daredevil.”
The plot is thin, but it’s basically about the Daredevil avenging
his father’s murder and hunting down the evil Kingpin (Michael Clarke
Duncan), who controls crime in the city.
Daredevil is not about the story, it’s about the action and
getting to see Jennifer Garner (TV’s “Alias”), in curve-hugging vinyl
pants.
I enjoyed the film because it is visually exciting, and you can
tell the actors are having a good time, especially Colin Farrell, who
plays the villain Bullseye. Jon Favreau (“Swingers”) plays the comic
straight guy and has the funniest lines in the movie. The
high-powered soundtrack also adds to the excitement.
Daredevil is not for everyone. I still can’t believe it was rated
PG-13. If you’re concerned about your children seeing too much
violence, I would avoid this film. But if you want to see bad guys
get pummeled by a man wearing a skin-tight leather suit, head to your
local theater.
“Daredevil” is rated PG-13 for action violence and some
sensuality.
