GATE features behavioral teacher
MAGNOLIA PARK -- San Marcos High School English Teacher Harri
Kallio is the featured speaker at the Burbank Gifted and Talented
Education Parent Advisory Committee program Tuesday.
Kallio, who has been practicing the theory of cognitive-affective
behavioral dynamics in the classroom for the past 25 years, will
explain how using this technique reveals that the heart is directly
linked to human emotion.
This free event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the John Burroughs High
School library, 1920 W. Clark Ave. The entrance into the school is on
Parish Place.

Youth soccer registration begins
HILLSIDE DISTRICT -- Registration for new players to the Burbank
region of the American Youth Soccer Organization are from 10 a.m.
until 2 p.m. today at John Muir Middle School, 1111 N. Kenneth Road.
All new players must provide a copy of their birth certificate,
passport or immunization card as proof of birth date.
