The following incidents were taken from police reports:
SOUTH SAN FERNANDO DISTRICT
* 300 S. Glenoaks Blvd.: Rico’s Pizza reported Wednesday a man
paid for a pizza with a counterfeit $100 bill. The man picked up an
order and gave the clerk the bill, then left with the food and his
change. After he was gone, store officials noticed the bill looked
suspicious and called police.
* 600 S. Glenoaks Blvd.: 20/20 Video reported Wednesday a man
stole 30 adult DVDs from the store. Workers told police the man
entered the store, loaded the DVDs into plastic bags, then ran away.
The DVDs were valued at about $1,000.
HILLSIDE DISTRICT
* Walnut Avenue Extension: Police joined fire officials Wednesday
in investigating a Chevy Blazer set on fire near the northern border
of the city. The truck, which police suspect was stolen, was burned
so badly neither the license plate nor vehicle-identification number
could be read.
BURBANK VILLAGE
* 245 E. Magnolia Blvd.: A 36-year-old Burbank man was arrested
Wednesday on suspicion of stealing watches and clothing from
Mervyn’s. Store security told police he entered a fitting room and
put a pair of pants on underneath the pair he was wearing, then put
several watches in his pocket and left the store.
