Robber leaves bucks behind at BK
Police are searching for a man who botched a robbery at a Burger King
by leaving the money behind.
The robber entered the restaurant at 535 N. Victory Blvd. at 9
p.m. Monday, jumped over the counter and, using a gun, took an
employee hostage. He ordered the manager to get money from a safe in
the restaurant’s office and followed the manager into the office,
police said. The manager put money from the safe on a desk and in his
haste to put the bills into his jacket pockets, the robber dropped
his gun. The manager grabbed the robber, who was trying to run away.
The robber’s jacket came off in the struggle and he left it at the
store, with an undisclosed amount of money from the safe still in the
pockets.
The robber was a black man between 5 feet 9 and 6 feet tall. His
hair was braided in cornrows and he left the Burger King wearing a
long-sleeved black shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
