District seeking applications for Oversight Committee
Through May 9, the Board of Education will accept applications from
interested community members to fill four seats on the Community
Oversight Committee for the expenditure of school bond proceeds. The
term of office is four years.
Applications are available from the Burbank Unified School
District superintendent’s office, 1900 W. Olive Ave., or by calling
729-4422. All applications must be returned no later than 4 p.m. May
9.
The nine-member committee reviews proposed construction projects
that are paid for, wholly or in part, from bond proceeds. It oversees
construction proposals, budgets and schedules to assure all projects
are completed on schedule and on budget. The committee acts in an
advisory capacity to the Board of Education, and can recommend
studies and investigations related to the expenditure of bond
proceeds.
Appointments will be made during the June 5 school board meeting
in the City Council chambers of City Hall, 275 E. Olive Ave.
