The following incidents were taken from police reports:

MEDIA CITY CENTER

* 200 E. Cypress Ave.: Macy’s reported Tuesday a man grabbed 24

DKNY purses and ran from the store. Store security noticed the man

looping the purses over his arm, but when they approached him he ran

to a waiting car and drove away. Store officials estimated the loss

at $1,300.

MAGNOLIA PARK

* 600 block of Whitnall Highway: Two next-door apartments were

broken into and robbed during the day Tuesday. Police said the

burglar kicked in the front door of both units, stealing a variety of

valuables, including guns, musical instruments and electronics. As of

Friday, no arrests had been made.

MEDIA DISTRICT NORTH

* 1500 block of Victory Place: A 23-year-old Simi Valley man

reported Monday a man in a truck tried to hit him in the parking lot

of the Empire Center. He told police a passenger in the truck threw a

bowl of rice onto his car, at which time he began yelling at those in

the truck. The confrontation escalated until the driver swerved and

tried to hit him, he said.

SOUTH SAN FERNANDO DISTRICT

* 300 block of North San Fernando Road: An 18-year-old Glendale

man reported Monday a man punched him in the face after the victim

declined to smoke marijuana with him. He told police the man pulled

up and asked the man and his girlfriend to smoke marijuana, but

became enraged and struck the man when they declined.
