Woman allegedly assaulted by bird-sitter
A North Hollywood woman was allegedly attacked with a hammer Tuesday
by a woman she hired to watch her bird.
When the North Hollywood woman went to pick up the bird, a 2-year
old jandae conure parrot, from the sitter’s house in the 1400 block
of Pepper Street, that woman accused her of owing money. The argument
escalated until the Burbank woman allegedly grabbed a hammer and
began swinging it at the North Hollywood woman, eventually hitting a
fence, police said.
The North Hollywood woman was able to run away and contact police,
but as of late Friday, police said they had not been able to locate
the suspect. In addition, police said the green, orange and red bird
is missing, and its whereabouts are unknown.
