ALFONSE A. VOLANTE

Alfonse A. Volante, 89, died April 11, 2003, in Burbank.

Born Dec. 17, 1913, in Gallinaro, Italy, he was a longtime Burbank

resident. He was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus

and an Usher at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.

He was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, the Keystone

Club, the Joslyn Adult Center and the Franciscan Senior Club. Mr.

Volante is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Kathleen Volante

Aitkens; sons, Anthony and Gerard, six grandchildren, and 10

great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial is at 1 p.m. today at St. Robert

Bellarmine Catholic Church, 133 N. Fifth St. The interment follows

at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.

The Valley Funeral Home is in charge of direction.

CHARLES HENRY ‘JUGE’ BLODGETT JR.

Charles Henry “Juge” Blodgett Jr., 65, died April 10, 2003, in

Burbank.

Born July 11, 1937, in Elmira, N.Y., he was a longtime Burbank

resident. He worked as a stage carpenter for ABC Studios, a race car

driver, an automotive mechanic and a retail salesman. He was also a

member of the Stagehand Union IATSE Local No. 33.

Mr. Blodgett is survived by his wife, Catharine; sons, Doug and

Dean; daughters, Debbie Besley and Dacia Blodgett-Williams; three

granddaughters; and two grandsons.

His ashes will be cremated and spread over the Watkins Glen

Racetrack in Watkins Glen, N.Y., on an undetermined date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer

Society, 500 N. Victory Blvd., Burbank, 91502.
