Man crashes into glass wall
A 32-year-old Quartz Hill man crashed his car into a building late
Thursday as he tried to flee two men who apparently threatened him
with a handgun.
The chase began about 10 p.m. near the corner of San Fernando
Boulevard and Verdugo Avenue, police said. The victim told police
two men in a silver Subaru flashed him a black metal object he
believed was a gun. The men followed him for several blocks as he
tried to elude them, the victim told police.
Eventually, he made a quick turn to try to lose them and crashed
his silver sport-utility vehicle into the glass wall of an office
building at 701 S. Victory Blvd., police said. The man was not
injured, but his car received extensive damage in the crash, police
said.
The men who were chasing him drove away, and as of late Friday,
police said no arrests had been made.
