Ice-cream-loving locals lined up outside Ben & Jerry’s Burbank Scoop

Shop on Palm Avenue for Free Cone Day on Tuesday as Burbank

firefighters raised money while handing out treats. Some patrons even

went for seconds and thirds as the store offered unlimited samples.

The annual give-away is celebrating the company’s 25th anniversary.

Last year, scoop shops across the world gave away more than 1 million

free samples. This year, seven new flavors have been introduced,

including Brownie Batter, Uncanny Cashew and Chocolate Chocolate

Cookie. Ben & Jerry’s was founded by Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield

in 1978. The company has hosted Free Cone Day since its first year.
