The following incidents were taken from police reports:

MEDIA DISTRICT NORTH

* 2311 N. Hollywood Way: A 23-year-old Van Nuys man allegedly

slipped out of handcuffs and ran from police while being arrested

Monday on suspicion of shoplifting. Officers gave chase and took the

man back into custody.

BURBANK VILLAGE

* 260 E. Hollywood Way: A 26-year-old Sylmar man was arrested

Monday after allegedly attempting to punch several employees at

Gitana Restaurant. Employees told police when the man was asked to

leave, he tried to strike employees with a cocktail glass and punch a

security guard. Security guards restrained him until police could

arrive.

MEDIA CITY CENTER

* 600 N. San Fernando Blvd.: IKEA store security reported Monday

they found a loaded handgun inside a fanny pack in a restroom. The

loaded .380-caliber handgun was found at 1:15 p.m., and police said

the serial number was scratched off.

NORTHWEST DISTRICT

* 2000 Hollywood Way: Police responding to a burglar alarm at

Sav-On on Saturday night discovered someone broke in and stole a

large amount of prescription drugs. Police said the burglars gained

entry into the store by smashing the front window.
