Chamber luncheon is Thursday

HILLSIDE DISTRICT -- Local businesses are invited to network at

the monthly Business Connection Luncheon hosted by the Burbank

Chamber of Commerce.

Jacqueline A. Wells, Inc. is sponsoring the event at 11:30 a.m.

Thursday at the Castaway, 1250 Harvard Road. Michael Flad, the

director of Burbank’s Park, Recreation and Community Services

Department, is the guest speaker.

Tickets are $20 for members, $25 for prospective members. For more

USPS conducts food drive

BURBANK -- For the 11th year in a row, Burbank letter carriers

will join their counterparts from across the country Saturday and

collect food donations from postal customers.

Non-perishable, unopened food can be left next to mailboxes for

letter carriers to pick up while delivering the mail. All the food

will be donated to local food banks and the other charities in the

community.

More than 500 million pounds of food have been collected

throughout the 10-year history of the drive.
