BURBANK -- Robert E. Underhill was honored as one of 10
“Outstanding Young Californians” at a recent dinner sponsored by the
California Junior Chamber.
A finance manager for the ABC Cable Networks, Underhill is
projects leader for Walt Disney Volunteers, which offers assistance
to troubled youths through the Los Angeles County Probation
Department.
The first program is a one-to-one mentoring program that matches a
Disney employee with a minor on probation. Underhill started the
second program, which couples executives from major corporations with
inmates at Sylmar Juvenile Hall for mentoring activities Tuesday
nights.
Underhill has also coached youth basketball at Richie Valens Park
in Pacoima for the past eight years.
