Emily Beth Peterson of Bakersfield and Kenny Carpenter of La

Crescenta were married in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of

Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Santa Monica.

A reception was shared with family and friends at the Oakmont

Country Club. For their honeymoon, the couple traveled to Puerto

Vallarta, Mexico. They are living in Provo, Utah.

The bride is the daughter of Becky Peterson of Bakersfield and the

late Kenneth Peterson. She is a pediadontist assistant.

The bridegroom is the son of Glenda and Fred Carpenter of La

Crescenta.

He graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in 1999 and is

attending Brigham Young University on a swim scholarship with a major

in business.

While at Crescenta Valley High, Carpenter was a 17-time

All-American swimmer and three-time News-Press Athlete of the Year.
